The First Volume
Hello all! How were the long-awaited end-of-year holidays for you guys? Hopefully, everyone remembered to slip-slop-slap and took caution when going outside; Australia’s summers are quite the danger.
(But you probably don’t need us to tell you that)
Currently, we’re on the hunt for more members to help grow and shape ubique. So if you're interested in writing, editing, photography or art, don’t be afraid to come forward! You can come and join our Google Classroom (64qotqk) for further information with submitting anything, or our Discord server (https://discord.gg/SRcag9wr) to chat with others ubique members and become a part of the community. We will also now be holding our weekly meetings during lunch on Thursdays in the library reading room. So make sure to come along and make some new friends, or just pop in to show your support.
We would also like to thank everyone for the support we received with the Valentine’s Day polaroid booth and lolly stand! Everyone who volunteered to help out worked really hard in setting up the event to make it an enjoyable memorable experience. It was great to see the faces of everyone who showed up to buy a polaroid :D
Table of Contents
Now, let’s check out the articles included in this Volume!
With the love confessions and music requests from the confession box on the 14th, ubique is finally debuting their trial podcast, with Jr. Director, Lin Guan and Design Directors, Jane Le and Jue Hui Law running it. The podcast is a place where everyone can feel safe and secure, so sit back, relax and enjoy the show ;).
An interview, but this time, it’s with one of Uni High’s most loved couples, Maia and Felix! Starting VCE this year, these two lovebirds were kind enough to let us in on their personal lives and answer our burning questions.
Continuing on with the theme of Valentine’s Day, our Junior Editors wrote a piece about the polaroid booth event. It contains some of our thoughts on how it went, as well as thanks to all of you for showing up and giving us your support. (we have pictures!)
Leaving all that lovey-dovey stuff behind, we move onward with a review on one of the most successful movies to come out of 2021; Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Written by Lin Guan, this media review shines a light on the experiences of Asian immigrants. (Contains spoilers content in the movie, so, spoiler warning!)
We then finish off with another interview, instead this time, we have Ester and Matt, two out of the four Galileo teachers in 2022. Stay tuned for a second part coming after this one, with Sam and Trent!
And that’s all we have this week! As always, articles will be linked below in the table of contents; don’t forget to follow us on Insta (@ubiqueuhs) for weekly updates and make sure to comment! Hearing your thoughts always makes us happy :)
Stay well hydrated and stay safe! Happy reading guys <3
