The Third Volume

Hey UHS! Welcome back to a new issue of ubique! How is everyone surviving the crazy temperature right now? At least its time for school holidays and we can finally go home and stay warm. Take a break and make sure to have fun over these 2 weeks :)

As always we’re constantly on the lookout for new members to be a part of the team. Come in every Wednesday at recess in the reading room to participate in meetings. Or join our google classroom (64qotqk). Whether you love art, writing, or podcasting it doesn’t matter. Pop in and share some of your ideas; all of your voices matter. Everyone is welcome!

Additionally we’d love to thank everyone who contributed towards Uni High’s culture day. It was amazing to see everyone have fun and proudly share a piece of their culture and traditions. We hope everyone had an amazing and memorable time!

Now, let’s check out the articles included in this Volume!

  1. Have you ever wondered what GTAC is for. Well you can read the profile of Tony, a member of GTAC. Jaclyn Huynh asked him a few questions on what goes on in GTAC and how he feels that GTAC is located in the school.

  2. Lockers. It can be a hassle but also very useful. It always gets so busy when the bell rings and Eda Ozyurt thought there needed to be a change. Check it out!

  3. Unihigh has so many clubs where everyone can feel welcome, but does anyone truly know about them. Well this article talks about all the clubs, how to join and the meetings. If you’re interested, click on the link :)

  4. We never really know the people who work behind the scenes at school that make it possible for us to learn. Here’s an interview on Suriati, an office worker at UHS.

  5. Check out the finalists for Daisy Searby Competition, don’t forget the commended pieces too :)

  6. Culture day. What a blast! It was a day UHS will never forget and it was one of the most successful days ever. Jasmin’s article ‘Culture Shock’ has a few interviews that happened on the day plus a photo gallery of the fashion show :)

  7. In order to break the bias, we must slow down, gather more information and facts, be open to learning and testing assumptions, and get involved in the conversation. Abbey talks about this in her article, have a read :)

  8. Ahmed, a student who came into the school not so long ago, talks about his experience moving from Reservoir high and what can be improved here at our school.

And that’s all we have this week! As always, articles will be linked above in the table of contents; don’t forget to follow us on Insta (@ubiqueuhs) for weekly updates and make sure to comment! Hearing your thoughts always makes us happy :)

Have a great holiday, stay safe! Happy reading guys <3
