Mason’s Review on: Folsom Prison Blues (Live)
Artist: Johnny Cash
Genre: Rockabilly I guess
3 words describing the song: ‘Hello, I’m Johnny Cash’
What you like about the song: The song tells the tale of two points in Johnny Cash’s career. The song was written in 1953, when Cash saw Inside the Walls of Folsom Prison while stationed in Germany. He bought his first guitar earlier that year. The At Folsom Prison version was released and recorded in 1968, and by then Johnny Cash was famous, but with this recording he found the perfect atmosphere and audience for the song.
