Conspiracies At Uni-High (Pt.2)

Written By Rory Bochner

There has always been a strange presence at Uni High. Whispers around corners, rumours spreading like wildfire, strange occurrences and hidden places everywhere if you’re looking. Ask any student and they can tell you a story of mysterious happenings. We took a small team of journalists on an investigation around the school, unlocking mysteries and opening dark corners.

67% of students said that there is some fishy business going on behind the scenes of Uni High, examples being the abnormal amount of fires over the last four years, the unusually high number of locked doors, strange graffiti on walls, and contradicting stories from staff members. We turned to an inside source for answers, and they agreed to take us through the school and take a look at some of the shady places.

First, we took a look in the basement, accessible only through a stony stairwell into a pit behind the canteen. I personally have heard several rumours about what it contains, but once opened we discovered that it was the ancient boiler room, containing big pipes, the boiler itself, and a massive fan used for heating the school. Ignoring the strange smell, there was nothing suspicious about this room. We moved onto the locked room next to the 263 classroom, which, although containing suspicious-looking devices and strange graffiti, turned out to be the old projector room for the Mezzanine. We continued on like this through a series of rarely seen rooms and corners, but as hard as we looked, nothing suspicious could be seen.

We have had approximately five fires in the last four years, and as it has been proven that 87% of fires that happen in a school environment, something had to be going on there. One mystery was the fire of 2019, where someone had put something in a microwave that made it explode. This was widely said to have been caused by someone from the maths department putting a fork in a microwave, but when questioned, an insider from said department denied such allegations and told us it had come from the LOTE department. After being interrogated, anonymous sources admitted it had come from them, but that they couldn't give us a name, due to privacy issues.

Our Investigation went on for three weeks, but the more we looked, the more we discovered Uni High is just an average high school, with absolutely nothing fishy going on behind the scenes. Despite our disappointment at the lack of interesting occurrences, it is with great relief that we close our case, certain that there is nothing to be worried about at Uni High.
