Genre: Sci-fi Fantasy, Mystery & Action.

3 words describing the book: Intriguing, Exciting, Brash.

1 sentence describing how you felt when you finished the book: I had thoroughly enjoyed the book and eagerly awaited the sequel.

Strength: The universe was well developed and showed that great thought had gone into the plot and worldbuilding.

Weakness: Aurora Rising, on multiple occasions, falls into the pit of using cliched character tropes (even if the characters are unique and interesting) and contrived narrative devices (even if they are given a relatively original facade).

Why you’d recommend it: There are a few reasons I would recommend this book. The story is interesting and engaging and the writers keep you engaged by writing it so that each chapter is the from the point of view of a different character, and as a result, the writing style and way certain characters and topics are discussed differ significantly from character to character. This has the added benefit of allowing the reader to gain a better understanding of, and a deeper connection to the characters.
