Introduction by pat bui

As we enter the 2020’s, fashion is becoming more and more prominent in our daily lives, especially in the lives of us teenagers. However, as fashion becomes more mainstream, it is important to note that the fashion industry is very corrupt and unethical… so how can you enter the world of fashion without harming our environment? Belen seems to have the answer: Thrifting. Follow Belen as she dives into the world of op shops and second hand clothing and see her best finds in the thrift down below. Also… we want to see your best finds as well! UBIQUE wants to be able to share as many of your treasures as possible, so if you’re also a thrifting nerd, send us some photos of your best thrift finds with the brand of the clothes and the price you got it for! Send us your submission through our email @ ubique.team@gmail.com or our Instagram @ubiqueuhs to be featured on this article and our IG stories!

The funny thing is that I haven't bought anything new in about a year aside from lingerie/swim. All my shoes are from Depop, and my clothes are op shopped. They're way nicer than anything I could find in a normal store. It takes patience to find things and it's not always what you're looking for on the day but my closet is making me(and my wallet) so happy at the moment. No other girl has the same stuff that I do :). Please note that this is my fancy stuff; I also found shorts, hoodies and other basics. <33

It’s inevitable for normal people to support companies with trashy ethics at times, whether it be supermarkets, fast fashion or appliance makers. It's true that you can't always pick sustainable options which are worthwhile and best of quality. The fact is that no matter how long you make your shopping last, you are still supporting companies which irresponsibly source materials, slave labour, dump toxic waste and pollute places overseas. Just do your best to pick flattering, long lasting things and boycott wherever you can.
