Slam Poems

Year 10

As part of the year 10 literature curriculum, students must write and perform their own slam poem and the top poems in the grade are entered into the Outloud Slam Poetry competition.

Due to the pandemic, instead of performing the slam poems to the class and in person for the competition, students have filmed and edited a video of their performance. However, this opens a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase the slam poems by our students online!

As expected, our talented students have progressed far into the competition, with two of our slam poems qualifying for the Grand Final of the Outloud Slam Poetry competition!! These are Perspective by Shashwata Majumder, Orion Nheu and Theo Athanasopoulos and Joseph Edward-Smith’s poem!
