Year 7 Interviews - Social Journalism
This is the beginning of 2024’s UHS social journalism!
This time, we have our very own lovely and bright year 7’s review their thought on UniHigh so far, and maybe some knowledge for us to reflect on to boot.

How are you adjusting to year 7?
Alice 7t2 — High school has been pretty cool recently, but I keep forgetting homework. I still always get lost around the school as well.
I still remember when I first came to high school I got lost pretty regularly and still sometimes do!
Folivia 7t2 — It’s been good. It is newer since I moved from a different country so the school systems are different.
The school systems are very different from each other!
Kyra 7t2 — It's okay. It could’ve been better if I didn't have to take my sister to school with me.
As someone who takes a sibling to school with me, it can be a bit troubling…especially when you’re already late for school!
Marcus 7t1 — It’s good because I haven't had that many bad experiences yet.

How would you compare high school to primary school?
Alice 7t2 — You need to go to lots of different classrooms. Because in primary the teachers go to your classroom instead, and there’s way more homework. There is also no uniform and lots of dirty bathrooms here.
I think every year 7 can agree that there is way too much homework in high-school! Also, the bathrooms should get some re-touching…
Folivia 7t2 — It’s been good. It is newer since I moved from a different country so the school systems are different.
When I moved from a different country I had to repeat half the year it was super boring.
Kyra 7t2 — It's okay. It could’ve been better if I didn't have to take my sister to school with me.
Marcus 7t1 — It’s good because I haven't had that many bad experiences yet.
What is your favorite subject in school at the moment?
Alice 7t2 —Math because you solve equations, and art because my teacher is really nice.
Wish I had your mindset for math.
Folivia 7t2 — I like P.E. because there is no homework and you just play around.
I agree P.E is so fun, no studying and lots of moving around.
Kyra 7t2 —Art because my teacher is really nice.
Marcus 7t1- I like French because it is the easiest for me.

How would you rate your high school life from 1 to 10?
Alice 7t2 —6 or 7 because the bathrooms are bad and loads of homework.
I agree the homework is so much and some bathrooms are really disgusting
Folivia 7t2 — 8/9 because its more easier since I’m re-learning since I also already started year 7 in my other country.
I can relate, I had a similar experience.
Kyra 7t2 — I’d give it a 5 because it is not horrible enough to give it a 1 but not good enough to give it a 10.
Marcus 7t1 — An 8 because it's not bad and it's pretty good since it's fun.
