Recommendation by (Your Name): Margaret

Title: Kingdom.

Platform (film, show, doco etc): TV Series.

Genre (Action, Horror, Romance, Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Thriller, Other): Horror.

Rating (PG, etc): MA 15+.

Available on (Netflix, etc): Netflix.

What is it about? (Describe it in 2 sentences): A kingdom, tense with talks of the sick king’s succession, is struck with a mysterious plague post-starving-village-cannibalism that turns its victims into monsters that hunger for human flesh. The crown prince must navigate both political and diseased terrain to save his country and people.

What did you personally like about it? (No spoilers please!): The plot development of Kingdom is superb and ties in politics with some good ol’ zombie action. Its supporting characters are strong and entertaining without taking the focus off of the protagonist and the horror aspect of the show doesn’t get lost at all. The filmography also makes it engaging in the sense that the action scenes aren’t afraid to get gory.

Personal rating out of 5: 4.5/5
