The videogames of UHS
University High school has had for more than two years now had a beautiful game development club that has run two massive game jams, and also an eternal exhibition of its games. It runs every* Thursday, in 1011, where we chill and work on new projects. So, what are some of the creations our great community has made?
First entry:
ROLL WITH IT
https://itch.io/queue/c/3706355/the-exhibition?game_id=2179393
Roll with it is a 2d leaderboard based web game, similar to flappy bird or tetris. It uses dice-objects and multiple point-gaining games to fill out as you keep getting handed more dice to use. Your aim is to gain as many points as possible through these minigames before the time runs out. It has random generation, sound and a school-wide leaderboard (and a secret for lots of points!). Check it out, as it can run in browsers and compete with your friends!
Second entry:
Working parts
https://itch.io/queue/c/3706355/the-exhibition?game_id=1736473
Working parts is a cute puzzle 2d platformer, using many different ideas to make different and difficult challenges for the player to figure out. It is for windows computers, and has a good deal of content for you to play through. This game also was the winner of the first UHS game jam!
Third Entry:
DEMENTED DELIVERIES
https://itch.io/queue/c/3706355/the-exhibition?game_id=2126272
This chaotic 2d game involves what can only be described as a fever dream, as you race along a procedurally generated world and try and beat your high score. Avoid tornadoes, pringles and bombs as you deliver packages to the houses that want them.
And that’s it for today! We have many more games in the exhibition site (https://itch.io/queue/c/3706355/the-exhibition?game_id=2126272) , and more being made for the UHS game dev club right now. If you have any games you’ve made that you want to exhibit, or want to compete in the new game jam competition come to 1011 every* wednesday, right across from Ubique. No knowledge needed, as we can teach you.
