spring..

When you contemplate spring, you anticipate sunshine, blossom, merriment; the perfect time of the year in essence. UniHigh is no exception to the jubilance of strolling through winsome surroundings. But wait. What many of us don’t realise is that this is only the tip of the iceberg with numerous horrors arising below the surface. 😱
It’s not uncommon to witness our classmates abruptly sprinting to the tissue box during class, as their hayfever causally decides to kick in; something which has been normalised during this time of the year. In fact, it would hardly be surprising to see queues of people, awaiting their turn before the box (an exaggeration).
UniHigh also often witnesses (some) students running for their lives after catching sight of bees, which may or may not be justified depending on the situation.
However, the greatest dread of spring lies behind an alluring bird vocalisation: Magpies. The vicious attacks and lack of social awareness (misunderstandings to put it nicely) have inflicted a fear within people of going outside without an umbrella in hand for reassurance. Moreover, for those of us who unfortunately have personal experience with magpies, a constant hand defence pose reflex has subconsciously been induced while anything flies past (even a fly).
