Gloomy days at UniHigh
BY RUI LI, CRISTIANO STELLA & JAY HO
Rainy days at University High School are a mix of emotions for all students, it brings comfort, frustration, and a sense of camaraderie. The pattering of the rain hitting the window during the lesson, the water dripping from your hair down to your face, and the small peak of the sun throughout the day giving you hope. Rain has both positives and negatives. It all depends on how you interpret it.
Morning Arrival
Clutching your umbrella tightly as you wait for the tram, only for a gust of wind to turn it inside out, leaving you vulnerable to the rain as you attempt to fix your umbrella. Students run into the school, some dodging puddles, others not so lucky. The atmosphere is a mix of laughter and groans as everyone shakes off their umbrellas and peels away rain-soaked jackets. Despite the soggy start, there's a buzz in the air; it's another day at UniHigh, and rain or shine, the day must go on.
In The Classroom
There's something uniquely comforting about being in a classroom on a rainy day. As the raindrops tap gently on the windows, it creates a metronome of some sorts, the room seems to come alive with warmth and cosiness. The soft pitter-patter of rain outside acts as a gentle backdrop to the work that you are doing, almost like nature itself is providing the perfect ambience for learning or sleeping, whatever comes first.
Leaving school
As the final bell rings, you pack up your bag with a sense of urgency, hoping to beat the next downpour. You step outside, and for a moment, the rain seems to have let up. Just as you start to feel optimistic, a few stray droplets hit your face. You sigh, pull out your umbrella, and make your way home. Despite the dampness and the sniffles, there's a sense of accomplishment. You've made it through another gloomy day at UniHigh, and somehow, that feels like a small victory in itself.
