Hello UHS students, teachers and affiliates and welcome to the 9th Volume of UBIQUE! Can you believe Term 3 is almost over? And what better way to reminisce than with a memoir of photos from the term that was? Not only that, this issue also contains some advice on what to do in the upcoming holidays and so much more. While you’re at it, we’ve also got some more Year 9 Magazine Competitions finalists since you guys enjoyed the last ones so much.

  1. It’s already week 10 of term 3 and the holidays are coming closer. Here is a collection of photos that this term had to offer!

  2. Can you believe term 3 is almost over? The holidays are only a week away but you’ve got nothing planned out! No to worry, here are some suggestions on how to kill all that free time.

  3. The start of an ongoing series, the UBIQUE team interviewed teachers at UniHigh to investigate what they were like during our age. This week, we’ve got, the one and only, Mr Topaludis!

  4. Every year, there is a writing competition for all students doing Year 10 English Literature. The competition judges students on their short stories and we’ve got some finalist entries to share with you!

  5. Do you want to join the world of decentralised digital money? Do you want to learn more about Bitcoin, the first and most popular cryptocurrency? Do you want to meet and network with other people who share your interest and passion for Bitcoin? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then have a read at this article, as we interview the head of ‘Bitcoin Club’ Mr Tiernan, about all the things that you will ever wonder about what’s happening in Bitcoin Club at the moment.

  6. Following the start of spring was the Cerebral Palsy bake sale on Friday, September 1st, by the courtyard. During the day, great crowds of students swarmed together to get a chance to satisfy their tastebuds with baked goods as well as to donate to a good cause.

  7. The UBIQUE team investigated the origins of the names of the UniHigh community to answer the questions; do we become our names? Do our names define us? Or is it something else entirely that sets us apart from one another?

  8. The Barbie movie came out just over a month ago and it’s hit the world by storm, not only in the movie industry, but also as a popular conversation topic. Although the trend may have died down since, how about an analytic piece about the recently popular movie.

  9. Have you ever wanted the answers to your deepest questions? Or to share your darkest secrets? Now you can with Ubique’s new recurring column; Ask Ubique!

  10. Spring is here and that means a completely different wardrobe for the expected warmth coming soon. In this piece, the UBIQUE team survey students to see what different shoes they are wearing for the new season.

  11. Rainy days at University High School are a mix of emotions for all students, it brings comfort, frustration, and a sense of camaraderie. The pattering of the rain hitting the window during the lesson, the water dripping from your hair down to your face, and the small peak of the sun throughout the day giving you hope. Rain has both positives and negatives. It all depends on how you interpret it.
