Song 1: Powerful - (feat. Ellie Goulding & Tarrus Riley)

First up, we have Powerful, and I think it’s safe to say that the song name speaks for itself. Created back in 2015, this song is a major throwback. What makes this song so enticing is the chorus - which has recently been used as a famous TikTok audio track, drawing more attention. As soon as the music starts, it instantly makes the listener feel as though they are starring in a ‘coming of age’ movie and we have just reached the climax of the plot. It’s no doubt that this beautiful piece of art has an empowering sensation and makes you feel powerful. Listening to this whilst running or late at night with headphones are two things that I highly suggest you do.

Song 2: Empty - Kevin Abstract

Next up is Empty, which is another throwback created back in 2016. It is classified as both Pop and Alternative - which some people enjoy, but others don’t. If you relish in this specific music genre, then this song is definitely for you, however, if you think otherwise please give this track a chance. If you take a closer look and pay attention to the lyrics, you’ll realise that this song is emotionally meaningful and deep. The overall song dives into the struggles and experiences with love as well as trying to be accepted by his mother due to his sexuality. Such a poignant piece and you should definitely take the time to listen to it. Don’t be afraid to comment on what your thoughts are on this song!

Song 3: u r my everything - Leslie Odom Jr.

This song goes out to the Hamilton fans at Uni High! I’m sure that all of you know about Anthony Ramos’ spicy and revolutionary song ‘Mind Over Matter’ and how all members of the cast have created their own music. But Leslie’s ‘Mr’ album radiates positive vibes. The two songs that stood out to me were ‘u r my everything’ and ‘Go Crazy’ - which is another song that you should listen to as well. He never fails to impress and this song, in particular, has such an uplifting beat that just makes you want to get up on your feet and dance.

Song 4: Distance - Emily King

The last song we have is Distance. When the track starts, it seems as though the song is going to be slow-paced as if it were a sad song, but once the beat kicks in, it takes a different turn. Calming but also a party song, there is no doubt that this song never fails to lift up your mood. The overall song is full of meaning as it takes the listener on a meditative journey and is the perfect late-night song. It just makes you feel good and relaxed so I highly recommend listening with headphones.
