The top places to hangout during lunch

This week we explored the variety of places students like to hang out and eat lunch during lunch. We have categorised each of the locations based on cleanliness, popularity, aesthetics, comfort and amenities. See if you can find the location where you normally eat lunch and if our ratings are accurate!
Canteen tables
Cleanliness: 2/5, Always food on the tables, floor and seats
Popularity: 4.5/5, The tables are always packed and the hallways are crowded
Aesthetic: 2.5/5, Mismatched chairs and old wooden lockers clash with the new grey lockers
Comfort/convenience: 4/5, Close to the canteen, however, it’s really busy and packed which makes it hard to find seating
Amenities: 5/5, Easy access to the microwaves, canteen, vending machine and bathrooms
Overall rating: 3.6/5
In front of the school
Cleanliness: 3/5, Relatively clean, with bits of leftover fruit scattered on the floor, rubbish floating around and bird poop on most surfaces
Popularity: 3/5, Not too packed, some days it is quite empty
Aesthetic: 3/5, Nature and outdoors, neighbourhood view
Comfort/convenience: 2.5/5, Exposure to sun, wind, rain and cold/heat
Amenities: 0.5/5, Not very close to any facilities
Overall rating: 2.4/5
The lobby near the front office
Cleanliness: 4/5, Seems clean enough
Popularity: 3.5/5, Fully inhabited by people most of the time
Aesthetic: 2.5/5, A bit of a dim area
Comfort/convenience: 3.5/5 Has seating, not very private because it’s in a hallway, exposed to weather from outside (front of school) and in front of teachers’ offices
Amenities: 1/5, A short walk down the hall to the bathrooms
Overall rating: 2.9/5
VCE
Cleanliness: 4/5, Suspicious smell, old area and a bit musty/stuffy but it is still relatively clean
Popularity: 3.5/5, Not too packed with mostly senior students
Aesthetic: 2.5/5, Outdoor area is a bonus
Comfort/convenience: 1/5, Students can hang out in classrooms and study tables, but you have to go up several flights of stairs, it’s a bit of a journey to hike up there
Amenities: 1/5: A short walk down a few flights of stairs to the bathrooms
Overall rating: 2.4/5

Cleanliness: 4/5, Newly built space which is quite clean
Popularity: 4/5, Tables are super packed
Aesthetic: 3.5/5, Well-lit and has nice, modern classrooms
Comfort/convenience: 3.5/5, Has seating and tables, and though you can't eat, most people still do
Amenities: 3/5, Close to the bathrooms, the library and vending machine with school supplies
Overall rating: 3.6/5

Cleanliness: 3.5/5, Decently clean
Popularity: 1.5/5, Very few people hang out here
Aesthetic: 1.5/5, The coloured doors for each subschool are cool
Comfort/convenience: 1.5/5, Only seats outside the subschool and you can sit on the blue carpeted areas near the stairs
Amenities: 2/5, Close to the bathrooms and close to subschool

Cleanliness: 3.5/5, Not too dirty but sometimes there are crumbs on the floor
Popularity: 2/5, Slightly more people than 200s
Aesthetic: 0.5/5, Not really, some of the buildings are out of action

Amenities: 1/5, Relatively close to the bathrooms and subschool

Cleanliness: 4/5, Quite clean
Popularity: 3.5/5, A bit niche and most people go to the tables
Aesthetic: 2/5, Not very aesthetic, but there is a view of traffic
Comfort/convenience: 1/5, Long walk from rest of school, have to walk through oval/basketball games and strong exposure to weather
Amenities: 0.5/5, The closest drinking taps are quite far away

Cleanliness: 2/5, Not the cleanest, with rubbish lying on the floor
Popularity: 5/5, Very popular, with all the tables full
Aesthetic: 2/5, There is scaffolding everywhere which makes it quite packed
Comfort/convenience: 3.5/5, Close to many buildings and accessible
Amenities: 1.5/5, Close to the canteen

Art wing
Cleanliness: 3.5/5, Quite clean but sometimes there is food and rubbish on the floor
Popularity: 1.5/5, Very few people
Aesthetic: 2.5/5, Not at all besides artwork displays
Comfort/convenience: 1.5/5, Nowhere to hang out except a few seats, the floor and the stairwell
Amenities: 2/5, Close to sub school and quite a long walk to the bathrooms
Overall rating: 2.2/5
Music wing
Cleanliness: 3.5/5, Seemingly not dirty but a bit musty
Popularity: 1/5, Very few people choose to hang out here
Aesthetic: 2/5, Includes a nice mural at least
Comfort/convenience: 1/5, Not really intended as a place to hang out besides sitting on the floor and chatting, no eating allowed
Amenities: 1/5, A short distance from 100s bathrooms
Overall rating: 1.7/5
Library
Cleanliness: 4.5/5, really clean
Popularity: 4.5/5, Super packed, can be hard to find a spot if you don't come early
Aesthetic: 4.5/5, New and well-designed
Comfort/convenience: 4.5/5, Warm, lots of seating, desks, study area, access to books, piano, meeting rooms, most people will find it easy to reach the library, BUT you can’t eat lunch there
Amenities: 0.5/5, Doesn’t really include any facilities
