Engineering Club

By Jessie and Sofia

There is now an engineering club? They are making clubs out of anything now.

- editor’s note

Ubique’s undercover journalists Jessie Verma, and Sofia Palileo join the Engineering Club’s first day of it opening, hoping to get some insight on what happens *mind blown*

As we thought, many bright people were there on the first day. Each table was given a set of materials all both similar and new. Resistors, LEDs, bread boards, you name it!

As for us.. We have had our experiences with turning on an LED on a breadboard, but this time, it was successful! All thanks to the help of the fellow club leaders. If you’re able to make two LED lights turn on, you get rewarded with chocolate! Which I must say, is a very generous offer. Other groups around the room had their own challenges, but were eventually able to make the LED turn on. The process may seem a little complicated, but you will get the sense of it when it all comes together.

Have we already said the club leaders were really helpful? Well, they were! Instructions were clear on the board and they did everything they could to help you out! (We were given their whole computer so our small light can turn on)

And don’t worry if you have zero experience, everyone in the club is learning too!

CONCLUSION:

A really great start to a club! They definitely didn’t waste any time with the hands on stuff. This club is a great addition to the University High School clubs, and we’re expecting it to grow a big engineering community soon!

If you would like to join: Thursday lunch 700s
