Robotics Win

By SARUN COLDREY, SWIKI KARNATAKAM & TANUSH THAKKAR

This tournament was 3 days long. On the 1st day we were just testing our robot to see if it was working all right, and then on the 2nd day we started the 50 qualification matches which went for a day and a bit. Each team played 15 matches and then the finals began on the 3rd day, which was the most exciting part of the competition

This was us in the finals. We were on the blue team with a triple stack. A triple stack gives us heaps of points and requires a lot of precision to do so.

This is our entire group holding the 2 trophies we got from the competition. We were one of the only teams that got 2 trophies in the entire tournament!

For anyone wondering, here are the rules!

  1. All robots must compete autonomously for the first 15 seconds of the match.

  2. Robots aren’t allowed to purposely violently crash into other robots or a penalty of 5 points will be deducted.

  3. All parts of your robot must be secured onto the robot before each match

  4. The driver of each team must stay behind a line when their robot is autonomous.

So… how did we make it?

  1. First thing we had to do was get our materials, Frames, Motors, Electronic appliances and Wheels.

  2. Then we had to use the frames to build a chassis then added some wheels.

  3. We then added the electronics and wired the motor to the wheels.

  4. Then we had to add some code to the robot to drive autonomously.

  5. Finally we made the bumpers to help protect the wheels and the robot.
