What Are The Best Classrooms In UniHigh?

University High School is home to many different classrooms, science classrooms, maths classrooms, English classrooms and many more. We’ll take you on a tour of the school and rate all the classrooms within. The criteria will cover cleanliness, view, access to amenities, aesthetics and lighting. We are not taking into account capacity for learning since it will depend on each subject. See if you can find any of your classrooms and if you agree with our ratings!
100s
Cleanliness/how new: 2.5/5, Not many classrooms apart from the music wing and food tech rooms. Most of the chairs in the rooms are broken and uncomfortable to sit in. The classrooms are also full of graffiti and quite dirty.
View: 0.5/5, Not much of a good View: except for parts of EBS
Access to amenities: 4/5, Close to the bathrooms on the 100 floor
Aesthetic: 1/5, Abandoned-core HELP
Lighting: 4.5/5, The lightning is surprisingly good

Food tech
Cleanliness/how new: 3.5/5, not extremely new but seems decently clean
View: 4/5, The view is nice and you can see the neighbourhood
Access to amenities: 4/5, It’s a short walk to the bathrooms and drink taps outside
Aesthetic: 3.5/5, The food tech rooms are cozy and warm when something is baking in the oven and sometimes there is a nice and sweet smell wafting in the air
Lighting: 4.5/5, The lightning is great and the room seems bright and open
Overall: 3.9/5

Cleanliness/how new: 2.5/5, The chairs are quite broken and the table is quite old
View: 1/5, The view isn’t too good as the windows are quite high which only allows you to see the top of buildings
Access to amenities: 3/5, It’s a short walk down the stairs to the 100s bathrooms
Aesthetic: 1.5/5, Most people forget about these classrooms
Lighting: 3.5/5, The lightning is alright as there are lots of windows, however the classrooms are quite dull
Overall: 2.3/5
200s Labs
Cleanliness/how new: 3/5, Relatively clean and mostly well maintained
View: 4/5, The view is also quite nice with windows overlooking the neighbourhood
Access to amenities: 3/5, Short walk to the bathrooms on the 100s level
Aesthetic: 2.5/5, If you're a science nerd, you’ll love it
Lighting: 5/5, There is so much natural light in these labs which gives the science labs a warm glow
Overall: 3.5/5

Cleanliness/how new: 2/5, Quite clean but not too new
View: 3.5/5, Almost all the classrooms have windows either overlooking the school grounds or the neighbourhood
Access to amenities: 1.5/5, A long walk several flights of stairs to the 100s bathrooms or across the sky bridge to the 600/700s bathrooms
Aesthetic: 1.5/5, The dark colours of the carpet and curtains make the classroom seem more dull and on hot days, the 300 classrooms are humid and stuffy
Lighting: 4/5, Well-lit classrooms because of the large windows
Overall: 2.5/5

Cleanliness/how new: 4/5, Newly built space which is quite clean
View: 3.5/5, You can spy on people who are walking across the quad while you’re in class
Access to amenities: 4/5, Close to the bathrooms and has a vending machine with school supplies
Aesthetic: 3.5/5, Modern space with bright orange chairs as the highlight of the space
Lighting: 5/5, The 600s are very open which maximises the sunlight that comes through the windows
Overall: 4/5
700s
Cleanliness/how new: 5/5, Super clean and recently introduced
View: 3.5/5, Similar to most of the other classrooms in the school, the windows showcase the school grounds
Access to amenities: 4/5, Short walk to the bathrooms
Aesthetic: 3.5/5, Similar to the 600s, modern but more toned down colours
Lighting: 3/5, There are windows everywhere which allow for light, however, the dull colours make the rooms seem darker
Overall: 3.8/5
VCE
Cleanliness/how new: 4/5, Not too new but still quite clean and well-kept
View: 1/5, If you enjoy staring at a wall of another building, you’ll enjoy the view in these classrooms
Access to amenities: 3.5/5, Short walk downstairs to the 600/700s bathrooms
Aesthetic: 2.5/5, The floors are a bit creaky and the rooms are sometimes quite stuffy but the rooms are quite neat and clean
Lighting: 4/5, Since these classrooms are on the top floor, each classroom is bright and very well-lit
Overall: 3/5
Library
Cleanliness/how new: 4/5, Quite recent and very clean
View: 2.5/5, Depending on which way you are facing, you could be staring at a grey parking lot or you could be facing the school and watching students walk past
Access to amenities: 3.5/5, The library is in the middle of the school gives you the option to choose which bathroom you go to
Aesthetic: 4.5/5, Well designed and gives off comfy vibes
Lighting: 4.5/5, The lights in the library are super bright and the large windows that allow for sunlight are a bonus
Overall: 3.8/5
Music wing
Cleanliness/how new: 2/5, Chunks are missing from tables along with vandalism
View: 2.5/5, You could be admiring EBS or you could be looking at the front of Unihigh
Access to amenities: 4/5, 100s and EBS bathrooms are close by
Aesthetic: 3/5, Instruments and musical posters add extra personality to the room
Lighting: 2/5, These classrooms aren’t in a good position where sunlight can easily enter the windows
Overall: 2.7/5
Hutch
Cleanliness/how new: 3/5, Quite hard to keep clean as it is an art room
View: 4/5, Lucky you! You have a clear view of the whole oval, you can watch the sports classes and the good thing is, they won’t know you’re watching
Access to amenities: 2/5, A long walk down several flights of stairs and across the school to the bathrooms but drink taps are near
Aesthetic: 3.5/5, Quite spacious and there are artworks on display everywhere which allow you to get your creative juices flowing
Lighting: 5/5, Large windows allow for sunlight to enter
Overall: 3.5/5
Green room
Cleanliness/how new: 3.5/5, Relatively new but a little messy
View: 1/5, Not much of a view, just a grey wall but sometimes if you’re lucky, you can admire the cars that are parked outside and watch as students walk by in the locker bay
Access to amenities: 5/5, Bathrooms are right next door
Aesthetic: 0.5/5, Huge pole in the middle of the room, seating not really ordered and there are windows everywhere which can be very exposing
Lighting: 2/5, The large windows allow for some light, however, the grey walls block most of the light
Overall: 2.4/5

Cleanliness/how new: 3/5, not exactly the cleanest since it is where many creative works and art pieces are made with lots of stains and dents in the tables and the floor
View: 2.5/5, The Top of the trees are always nice to look at from time to time
Access to amenities: 3.5/5, The 100s bathrooms and drink taps are close by
Aesthetic: 2/5, You are surrounded by cool yet dangerous wood tech machinery
Lighting: 4/5, Large windows allowing for sunlight
Overall: 3/5

Cleanliness/how new: 2.5/5, not exactly spotless since it is where many creative works and art pieces are made
View: 3.5/5, Overlooks the oval which means you can enjoy the sports classes and play their games in first class while you make your art
Access to amenities: 2/5, The bathrooms are close by but sometimes it’s bothersome walking down the stairs
Aesthetic: 3.5/5, The art rooms are covered with various art pieces made by students giving the room an artsy and creative feel
Lighting: 4/5, Large windows which allow for sunlight and illuminate the room
Overall: 3.1/5
EBS
Cleanliness/how new: 4/5, Very Clean
View: 3/5, Some of the classrooms have windows but the view isn’t too good and there is a nice view of the big projector in the auditorium
Access to amenities: 5/5, Bathrooms are super close and the cleanest in the school along with the freshest drinking water
Aesthetic: 3.5/5, The interior is modern and is home to the science and maths-loving students
Lighting: 3.5/5, The whole of EBS is well-lit as there are large windows at the front of the building that welcome light
Overall: 3.8/5
Portables
Cleanliness/how new: 4/5, Were introduced a few years ago and are still relatively clean
View: 3/5, There are windows in each portable which overlook the busy road and Melbourne University
Access to amenities: 0.5/5, A long walk across the school to get to the bathrooms or drink taps
Aesthetic: 2.5/5, The interior is simple and minimalistic
Lighting: 3.5/5, Bright light from the windows
